Skanda Shashti – Subramanya Special Pooja – Day 1

Surasamharam, is the penultimate day of Skanda Shashti fasting. Surasamharam 2021 date is November 9. The popular belief is that Lord Muruga killed Soorapadman with his ‘Vel’ and this divine act is known as Surasamharam. On the day, devotees celebrate this victory of good over evil and restoration of Dharma. The next day is observed as Thirukalyanam – the divine marriage of Muruga and Devasena.
